Working with energy

Finding the right words to explain a type of therapy that isn't tangible, that you sense will make a difference in your life, that you can't touch or see, but you can feel, is difficult, to say the least, but with the help of a little science, here we go...

Quantum physicists have discovered that 'physical atoms are made up of vortices of energy that are constantly spinning and vibrating, each one radiating its own unique energy signature.' This is a powerful realisation, as it means that each one of us has a unique energetic signature and along with that realisation, a unique vibration.

I have always used the analogy of tuning into a radio station to connect with the respective frequencies (vibrations) of healing modalities such as Reiki, Rahanni and Spiritual Healing, but for those of you more attuned to technology, connecting to the associated energy is similar to connecting to Wi-Fi.

(Healing being used in the sense of restoring balance, harmony and wholeness to mind, body and soul).

According to the European Space Agency, the Universe is thought to consist of three types of substance: normal matter, 'dark matter' and 'dark energy', with normal matter consisting of the atoms that make up stars, planets, human beings and every other visible object in the Universe. Therefore, with physical atoms being made up of vortices of vibrating energy it again supports the view that we can tune into and channel the many frequencies / vibrations of energy in the Universe, let alone the energy that is all around us,

Our brain is a powerful energetic tool and it is purely by intention that a connection is made to the required frequency / healing modality. As the energy gently flows into the crown and out of the palms of the therapist's hands during a treatment, the body's regenerative self-healing ability of the 'patient' is activated, along with a state of deep relaxation, similar to having a good night's sleep. When your mind and body relax, your muscles and internal organs do too, releasing any negative energy that may have been trapped through illness, trauma, grief or even smaller events, such as heated conversations.

The energy doesn't always go to where a physical symptom is presenting itself, as it seeks the cause of the trapped energy rather than the outcome, which in turn can result in say, a change of mindset or a resultant emotional release.

Energy blockages, by their very nature, build up over a period of time and it's rarely a quick fix to break them down and to let go, understandably with grief and trauma. Talking to someone outside your circle who has a listening ear can be as healing as the treatment itself and has an important part to play with encouraging the return of balance, harmony and wholeness to mind, body and soul. Allowing time after the treatment is also important as is keeping your diary clear for the rest of the day, so your energy can settle and adjust.

NB It is important to note that complimentary therapies such as Reiki, Rahanni and Spiritual Healing work along-side orthodox healthcare and a doctor should be consulted for medical advice.

Hopefully the above has helped, even in a small way, to explain how the different energetic vibrations are channelled and why. The blog that follows will discuss energy work a little deeper in terms of the 7 energy wheels in our body called 'Chakras'.
